hello and welcome along to sportsday. we're so used to seeing dame laura kenny winning gold on track for great britain — five olympic titles, seven world championships in one of the most decorated careers of any sportsperson globally. earlier, kenny announced she is to retire from the sport, talking up the pressure of elite competition on her young family. so kenny won't be competing at a fourth consecutive games in paris this summer. she joined me earlier in the studio and said the decision was on her mind for a while. i always knew that there would be a time that i would stop and deep down people were asking me what competition i was going to go to. what training camps i was going to go to, and it was just filling me with dread, to be honest.
